  • The nonprofit African People’s Education and Defense Fund (APEDF) builds dynamic community programs and institutions that address the needs of African people around education, health and economic development. The Uhuru Houses in St. Petersburg, FL and Oakland, CA with Akwaaba (Welcome) Halls are economic and cultural hubs of activity with community participation in programs such as the Halloween Haunted House, St. Pete Kids Got Talent, Black Love Comedy Jam, town hall meetings and low-cost community rentals.
