WASHINGTON, DC–On an unusually warm November day, Africans from all over the U.S. gathered at Malcolm X Park to rally and march to the White House demanding, “Hands Off Uhuru! Hands Off Africa!” for the annual Black is Back Coalition’s (BIBC) Black People’s March on the White House.
81 years ago, Chairman Omali Yeshitela was born as Joseph Waller on October 9, 1941 in St. Petersburg, FL where he grew up in an African community on the city's south side.

In it, the Chairman assesses the current period and the strengths and contradictions confronted by our Party in this new period of escalated imperialist crisis.
It has always been the expressed goal of the African People’s Socialist Party (APSP) that true African liberation will come by no other means than our own. Since 1972—our founding—the Party has waged this ideological and on-the-ground warfare against colonial propaganda; and for this, in the early hours of Friday, July 29, our Party and movement leaders were viciously attacked by the FBI. For daring to take liberation into our own hands, the Party was targeted.
