Dialog of nations: The right to self-determination conference in Moscow

ST. PETERSBURG, FL--News agencies around the world—both western imperialist and anti-western outlets—covered the conference, “Dialogue of Nations: the right to self-determination and the construction of a multipolar world.”

The African People’s Socialist Party’s Chairman Omali Yeshitela, speaking on behalf of the African nation, brought a strong and compelling message about our struggle for national liberation and self-determination. Imperialist media, despite their attempts to belittle the conference, could not ignore the Chairman’s presentations. Some highlights of the coverage are below.

The Independent: (United Kingdom and Worldwide News)

“The chairman of US African people’s party Uhuru, Omali Yeshitela, demanded that America be charged with genocide for crimes against African Americans, and called for the release of all African Americans from prisons. ‘The selection of Barack Obama as President of America is a manifestation of neo-colonialist power hiding behind a black face,’ he said.”

The Guardian (International Edition, based in London)

“Omali Yeshitela of the Uhuru Movement said American imperialism could not be overcome by peaceful means.

“'We call on you to recognise the right of African people to engage in armed defence against American colonialism, and we would like to express our profound appreciation to the Anti-Globalisation movement of Russia,” he told attendees.

“'We are convinced that we are on the right side of history, we are convinced that we will win, we are convinced that we are winning. Uhuru!’”

Bloomberg: (Headquarters in New York City)

“Omali Yeshitela, who is based in Florida and represents the pan-African Uhuru Movement, demanded that the international community recognize ‘the right of African people to armed self-defense against American imperialism.’ The movement seeks the economic and political liberation of blacks worldwide.”

Sputnik ( (Sputnik International, based in Moscow)

“Omali Yeshitela, the leader of the Uhuru Movement, said that China's economic presence in Africa is growing faster than any other state, something that, Yeshitela suggested, could challenge not only the United States’ hegemony, but also the supremacy of the European powers.”
